Measurements to take and mistakes to avoid for a coat that fits well.
Useful measurements Measure your chest under the arms, your waist and your arm length from shoulder to wrist.
Think in layers A winter coat goes over a sweater. Measure over a thick layer or allow some room.
Sleeves With arms stretched in front of you, sleeves should cover your wrists.
Shoulders The shoulder seam should sit on the shoulder bone, not halfway down the arm.
Between two sizes Choose the larger for a winter parka, the smaller for a fitted city coat.
